Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has announced the result of pre-quality assurance test of expansion phase 10 of Foundation Assisted School (FAS) program

LAHORE, April 15:
Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has announced the result of pre-quality assurance test of expansion phase 10 of Foundation Assisted School (FAS) program. A total of 2265 private schools took part in it to qualify for partnership with the foundation. The detailed result is uploaded at PEF official website for the convenience of intending partners.
          Meanwhile, PEF will complete distribution of around three lakh textbooks in its 358 school partners of the provincial metropolis, tomorrow. Provision of one lakh 48 thousand books to 95 partner schools of Mandi Yazman will also be completed, tomorrow. Similarly, provision of one lakh 23 thousand books to 92 Bahawalnagar schools and one lakh seven thousand textbooks to 110 schools in Mianwali was also completed on April 15.
Meanwhile, PEF Director (Education Voucher Scheme) Samina Nawaz has directed the school partners, through a departmental circular, to fill up annual census form and send the same to the foundation, maximum by April 20. PEF reserves the right to stop monthly payments and impose fine in case of non-compliance, the circular added.

Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has completed distribution of textbooks in Multan, DG Khan, Kot Chutta and Kot Addu tehsils.


Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has completed distribution of textbooks in Multan, DG Khan, Kot Chutta and Kot Addu tehsils.
According to PEF plans, books distribution in Shuja Abad and Rajanpur will be completed tomorrow; while two-day campaign of books distribution in Bahawalpur will conclude on coming Tuesday. Similarly, four-day books distribution drive in Muzaffargarh will end on April 07.  Meanwhile, 1,70,012 books will be given to 119 partner schools in Lodhran on April 05 and 06. PEF will also distribute textbooks in Mailsi and Mian Channu tehsils on April 06.
A total of 71 lakh textbooks will be distributed in PEF partnering schools in 36 districts of the province. For this purpose, 58 distribution points have been set up at tehsil and district levels in the Punjab.

Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has completed the conduction of Quality Assurance Test (QAT)


Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has completed the conduction of Quality Assurance Test (QAT) of partner schools situated in Cholistan area of Bahawalpur Division. The students of 73 partner schools sit for the exams. The purpose of this examination was to observe academic standards of the schools.
PEF Additional Director (South) Mazhar Abbas also visited the schools and inspected the examination activity. During the visit, he said that tree plantation drive has also been started in the partner schools so that the students could be provided green environment.
Meanwhile, PEF Director (Foundation Assisted School) Zahid Ali has directed the school partners, whose registration or renewal is lifetime, to contact their concerned office of Executive District Officer (Education) for completing school registration / renewal process. They should submit the attested copy to the department, maximum by April 8. A reminder circular has been issued in this regard.  
He has also asked the school partners to follow the directions of the Punjab Government with regard to elimination of dengue threat in their schools. PEF has issued SOPs for the FAS schools in this regard. These SOPs are uploaded at PEF official website for partners’ convenience.

The youth should be fully sensitized about the aims and objectives of the Pakistan Movement



The youth should be fully sensitized about the aims and objectives of the Pakistan Movement so that they could wholly understand the rationale and importance of two-nation theory in its truest sense.
Managing Director PEF Tariq Mahmood said this while addressing the function at Nazaria Pakistan Trust (NPT) on Wednesday. The function was largely attended by the students of PEF partnering schools and their teachers who visited the NPT to pay homage to nation’s forefathers on the occasion of March 23.
MD PEF said that Muslims of the sub-continent have left lasting imprints on the history of south asia with their great sacrifices and secured our future with their dedicated struggle. It is because of their efforts that we are living today as independent citizens. This country is the result of sacrifices of our elders led by Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah; and now it’s our collective responsibility to make this country prosperous and strong so that our coming generations could live an amicable life with a sense of pride. He asked the teachers to educate the students about importance of Pakistan Day and how they can play their role in nation-building. Teachers should also pay attention to the character building of the students, he added.

The function was also addressed by Prof. Dr. Rafiq Ahmad, Begum Mehnaz Rafi and others.

Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has employed master trainers at district level in the province for training of teachers of partner schools. These master trainers will also perform other field related assignments including monitoring of schools. It is expected that this tier will be much helpful in maintaining required quality standards by providing necessary support in maintaining smooth state of affairs.
          Managing Director PEF Tariq Mahmood said this while addressing the opening session of orientation meeting of master trainers at PEF head office on Tuesday. DMD (ops) Tariq Rafiq was also present on the occasion.
MD PEF said that high standards of transparency and cost-effectiveness have been achieved through a steady monitoring system which has also been helpful in improving organizational output and performance. Due to it, PEF has emerged as a role model organization, he added. He noted with satisfaction that complete record of 1.9 million partnering school students has been efficiently stored in PEF’s IT Server through state-of-the-art computerized software. Similarly, PEF has consistently been very successful in introducing different educational programs and partnering with the low cost private schools for providing free education to the deserving students in their districts. He further said that teachers’ training programs have also been introduced to improve the teaching capacity of school partners. These teachers are also taught about latest educational concepts so that they could perform better in future. He asked the master trainers to motivate other teachers to work with passion and inculcate intellectual inquisition in their students so that they could prove as symbols of success in the future.
          Different PEF officials also spoke on the occasion and briefed the participants about rules and regulations of the foundation.
